Foreign Language at West Point

What if you didn't want to take the language you took in HS...if you passed the test, do you have to take it or can you opt for another language?

You rank choices. The only competitive one is Spanish because everyone wants to take it and they have a limited number of entry level classes for it. Don't worry about it, you'll most likely get your pick.
 
Are there other aptitude tests for other subjects during beast?

Well that's good because that's the one I don't want to take.
 
There are only like 5 or 6 languages offered at West Point...are these the only options you can choose from?

Oh. I guessed wrong :\

Are you allowed to take more than one language? Even if you were, I wouldn't take any more than one...what I was asking is whether the 8 languages above are the only ones to choose from or if there are other possibilities

I took 3 semesters of Japanese in high school and its obviously not one of the languages taught at WP. If I have no record of taking any of the classes above, then what determines what language I get?

I got a list from a MALO that had Japanese on it, but did not have Portuguese or Farsi...where did you get the above list from?
 
So will I take the Language Aptitude Test (with the made up language to see whether I can master a difficult language) as well as a Spanish Placement test during Beast?

I'm trying to get into Persian and am wondering if they will make me take a Spanish test as well (since I took 7 semesters of it in HS) to see how well I mastered THAT language. I don't know if I should brush up on my Spanish to increase my chances of looking language-savvy and getting Persian.
 
Woot woot, I'm planning on taking Mandarin Chinese, my native language. :)
Is this frowned upon?
