Hello, when submitting my personal data record I completely forgot about a small traffic citation I had received earlier.

It was sincerely an honest mistake, and I would like to report this before my application gets processed. How would you recommend going about this process, and does it look bad that I forgot to report it.

Best thing to do would be to email your counselor at the Academy. They will provide you with instruction of what to do such as a form to fill out and email back.

Don't worry too much about it. You just don't want anything unaccounted for to come up in background checks if you were to be offered an appointment. A traffic citation should not be too big of a problem, even if you account for it late.

Agree with Lloyd. Especially if you report it promptly, I'm guessing it won't be that big of a deal. However, it would be a pretty big problem if something like that came up in a background check (assuming you hadn't reported it).

If there is an opportunity, you could even throw in a comment about how it taught you to pay attention to detail, which might earn you a bonus point or two. :thumb:

Good luck!
