Former USAFA class of 2019 preppy. Answering any questions!

Thanks for opening yourself up to questions. Very nice of you. I am sorry that your freshman year ended so abruptly. I hope that you are safe and with family/friends.

What is your advice for the the incoming class? What should they be doing to prepare? What should they be bringing with them? And, any advice on how they can make this experience the very best for success in getting into the Class of 2025?
Well, my advice is just embrace the 'suck'. Basic is always different for each year, but I can tell you it's just exhausting on all levels. Focus on getting by 'meal by meal'. Push yourself even when you feel like it's impossible. I would just say exercise and get yourself in a mindset that things will be hard. BRING YOUR OWN BOOTS! The boots I had gave me bad sores. BRING FOOTCARE! Sores and blisters are very common and are painful. I would also bring a journal to vent out stress. I wouldn't even worry about getting into the class of 2025. DO EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO and you will be just fine.

DD has been offered a place at prep. Trying to understand more about the academics. Anything you can say about that? Also, the website mentions some people at prep can take courses at USAFA in the spring semester. What percentage of prep students can do that?
I don't know the percentage, but they take a handful from each course to go take classes at the hill. Probably 10-15 for English, Math and Physics. The academics are just building blocks for classes at USAFA. They are manageable if you do the work to understand what's going on. The classes are on alternate days. There is extra help every day for classes. The grading scale is normal A-F. If you more specific questions, I can try to answer them.

Hi! Did you take Math, Physics, and English, etc. in high school? What happens to those who did not take some classes of these in high school? Thanks for answering questions, I know many will find it very helpful!
