Friday appointments

Okay, I am not really superstitous, but I just realized THIS Friday is Friday the 13th!

March days/dates are the same as February, so we'll have Friday the 13th two months in a row, but for us, it was a good thing in Feb, that's the date DD's MOC called her to congratulate her on her USNA appointment!!

All that is keeping me going right now is Hodge's speculation that the next couple of weeks will be slow, with a large amount of appointments to follow. It's hard not going completely nuts right now though! NINE days! We can make it! And hopefully we won't have to endure much longer than that!!!!

I know Bailey! I am hoping all the forum stalkers and posters have clear skies on the 18th! I haven't seen anyone on the USAFA forum post they got a turned down notice in their portal. Really nervous for what the 18th might bring! My DS is much more calm and taking it all in stride!

Lol it's opposite over here. My parents are calm but I have been freaking out ever since October!!!!
I am praying that none of us get turned down! That would be terrible! But all we can do is pray and try not to get an ulcer in the meantime! ;)
Best of luck to your family though! I am really hoping for some good news for you guys!
(I am NOT going to be able to sleep on the 17th!)

Same in our house -- DS is as cool as a cucumber but I'm a nervous mess! The 18th seems so far away!

Haha maybe all of us "stalkers" should have a forum event that night to keep us all occupied and entertained while we are not sleeping!
I was off work last Friday so at work I joked that Thursday was my Friday. I somehow got it in my head that Thursday WAS Friday and even though I knew these two weeks were probably slow as far as appointments, I woke up at 4am to check email hoping for a message! Ugh I need to get a life!
Thank goodness for these forums because no one else will listen to me anymore about this subject lol!

OMG I am so glad I am not the only one! My parents, sisters, and even dogs just want me to shut about all of this lol! I think they'll be relieved if I get in, because then June 25th I'll be all moved out and they won't have to listen to me anymore haha! My time, the portal finishes updating at about 7 am, so I go NUTS when I have to be at work AT 7 and can't check the portal until I get home!!!

Our house is definitely more of the nukepharm ilk. I'm completely obsessing over every bit of news. DS remains calm, although I know he's anxious to get whatever news is coming and move on. The nice thing is that most of his friends are also still playing the waiting game with regards to civilian schools. One thing I didn't realize initially is the toll this has taken on our DD, who is a tenth grader. She's a very good student as well, but the stress and constant "academy talk" and "well, I read on the forums that...." Has caused HER more stress for what lies ahead! So I've toned it back a little. Ha! In recent days, however, DS and I have had great conversations about the dreaded TWE and "what ifs.." Obviously we've had chats about that before, but actually sitting down and hammering out a plan (he has multiple acceptances, been awarded 4yr NROTC scholarship) of attack was quite productive and, I believe, stress reducing.

I'm with you! Just got a 4 yr NROTC scholarship; it was quite encouraging, because even if USAFA doesn't come through I know I can still go t college next year, and hopefully become more competitive for the USAFA C/O 2020!
