Friend with one kidney

My friend has only one kidney, and I think he had one of them removed when he was five.

He is expressing interest in ROTC (dont know what branch), strong kid, good character, but missing one kidney. Does this disqualify him for an ROTC scholarship?

Recommend your friend send me an email (Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil) and fully describe the loss of the kidney and all associated issues as a result. Was it congenital (at birth, trauma, diseases, etc). There will be a DoDMERB determination of does NOT meet medical standards, but under certain conditions in certain Services, waiver consideration may be authorized. Standing by.....
