Didn't know where else to put this, but can anybody tell me where Ft. Drum personnel choose to live off base? As a realtor I have to refer a client to an agent in Ft. Drum and need to know where to select the right realtor.

Thanks!

This is absolutely no help at all but - last fall I had a conversation with an Army wife, they had just moved from Ft Drum.
I offered my "condolences" for being posted way up there - and she informed me it's not so bad anymore. Watertown is one of the fastest growing cities in NY State. (Who knew??!!) All because of the war and the increased number of troops that have been posted to Ft Drum.

The real problem with Drum is the amount of snow they get every yr.

Yeah but up there at least they know how to plow it and drive in it.
A foot up there is no big deal - a foot in DC is a freaking crisis!

Honestly, I wouldn't mind the ground covered for 6 months (or more) a year what I can't take anymore is the cold. below zero cold. yuk.

Yeah but they get Lake Ontario, Adirondak Park with Saranak Lake, Lake Placid and the Olympic Arena. Montreal isn't that far away and a wonderful city. Two or more feet of snow can be daunting but even Floridians can get used to it. Up side: Your kids will learn to play ice hockey. It is the only thing to do in the winter. You will become a Hockey Dad/Mom.:yllol::thumb:

They have some Ice Hockey in Texas, just hard to find.

I always joked with Bullet that I knew where we were going next before him.

Reason why is the military typically does that. They send you somewhere cold, you buy everything to live there (snow blower included) and then they send you somewhere the complete opposite.

We went from the UK (gray and cold...it's a heat wave if it hits 80 in the summer) to NC (need I say more) to AK to NC.

My other joke was that we experienced most of the natural disasters...Tornadoes in Kansas, Hurricanes in NC, Earthquakes in AK
