Future service academy graduates/going into war

I think it veered off track when the idea of Mexican border skirmishes surfaced. Hard to compare Eastern Europe issues with US/Mexico border. Call me when Mexico moves advisers & military aid, much less troops into TX.

That's the conflict of yesterday hawk. The bigger concern, to me, are non-state actors in Mexico, facilitating the movement of criminals and/or terrorists into the U.S., across that border. I believe the Department of Homeland Security talked about that a few weeks ago.

Exactly. This must be one of the more worthless threads I've ever read.

Aahh come on.....nothing is more fun to watch then a high school senior that took a couple AP courses.

Yep, a worthless thread, but entertaining for sure.

Kinnem,

We gave our full throated support to your elevation to the rank of moderator, with all the powers vested in you. One of those powers is to shut down threads.

Your supporters beg you to do so post-haste.

I apologize for being a part of it, but I am glad that J did get one last shot in.

Well, up until now it's not hurting anyone so I'm going to leave it for a bit in hopes it dies a natural death. Besides, this isn't my forum so I'm not authorized to close it.

Is it against the forum rules to have a worthless discussion?

Absolutely not. That is what the "Off Topic" section is for and I enjoy reading a lot of what is posted here. Keep discussions friendly and respectful and there would be no reason to shut any thread down.

Superman would win because DC Comics is far superior to Marvel. Marvel essentially copies anything DC does and makes it worse.

You're not trying to imply we have a leaky border, are you? Next you'll tell me that they are able to sneak tons of cargo and bad actors in via secret tunnels. And that we are not properly vetting the ones we do catch, allowing them to stay. Or actually flying them in to avoid that risky border crossing...

Don't be paranoid LITS... Mexico is our friend and would never allow that!

You are right, as MX slides further away from rule of law our risk goes up. Probably more tangible than most of the overseas stuff.

DS tells me I'm wrong, but I believe in a modified Monroe Doctrine... We should focus on Mexico, Venezuela, and central America before worrying about democracy and regime change on the other side of the world.

The problem with that theory is that the "other side of the world" of the world is plane ticket away. The Monroe Doctrine works much better in an era where non-state and hybrid threats can't reach out and touch you in a time span ranging from milliseconds to hours.
