I have been on the forum for quite a while but never posted an introduction.
My son wants to attend the United States Coast Guard Academy and submitted his application this weekend.
Originally we are from the UK and moved to the US 8 years ago. My son and I became US citizens in April this year, the rest of the family will follow!
My son has wanted to be in the Coast Guard for almost as long as I can remember and when we moved to the US he became very serious about it!
We have visited the academy a number of times. He attended AIM and was awarded Honor Graduate and we recently attended Genesis as he will be a first generation college student. Just learning about the education process here has been a challenge, adding a service academy on top added a whole new level of complexity.
He loves our life in the US and is very grateful for the opportunities we have here.
