GADistrict 11 appointments?

Congrats jojohn! My DS has a nom for USNA and hoping to hear something soon. Thanks for the info about ranking the nominations... We had read Isakson does the competitive system so we figured Loudermilk did too. Did they tell you that you were the principal nom and if so how were you notified?
 
They didn't tell me if I was the principal, but they told me they ranked the nominees. I was notified by a call from the congressman and then my senator.
 
I am a 2021 hopeful to USAFA or USNA and I am in Loudermilks district. Would he do the ranking system for all academies or just USNA? I'm sorry if it sounds like a stupid question but this is alarming to me because I thought he didn't rank his candidates. Thanks.
 
I believe the congressman does it for all academies. It wouldn't make sense, in my mind at least, to do it for one and not the others.
 
Did the Congressman tell you that you were the principal nominee when you were notified of the nomination? Or did they tell you when you were notified of the appointment? The only thing we have to go on is after my son's interview with the panel, he got a phone call from one of the panelist telling him he ranked him as high as he could and what a great job he did. But that was just one guy that obviously like him. But all along we too were under the impression that Loudermilk did not rank and used the competitive method?
 
I was not told I was the principal, just that they ranked nominees. To be honest, I got a nom from Perdue as well, so I may have gotten in using his nom, but I was not told in any correspondence with the academy. I also thought they did not rank their nominees, but this was technically the first time Loudermilk nominated people to the academies, so I guess his office does.
 
That makes sense. My son also has a nom from Isakson's office and he clearly states on his website he uses the competitive method. Have not heard very much info on USNA appointments from District 11 but have heard they are running behind due to the recent snow storms in the NE. I guess at this point no news is good news! Congrats again on your appointent to the USAFA and for your input:)
