General Milley and "the book" ???

Who is General Xi?

How would Gen. Milley go about consummating a "secret pact" with a Chinese General? Does this Chinese General even speak English?

The only way President Xi would not be elected is if the other side cheats. After all, it is a rigged system. Since there are only 7 members of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CCP (one of whom is Xi himself), that would be a neat trick. If there are irregularities, they can always dial 1(800) Call Rudy.

They should. Rudy proved correct that Hunter’s laptop was legit. Despite the 50 former intelligence and media who said it was Russian disinformation.

There is even a video that Hunter admits the Russians stole his laptop.

At some point we require answers. And not by media and former intelligence and military folks who intentionally spread disinformation.

I think LurkingQuietly was using sarcasm to express the point that Milley is resourceful enough that language differences would not be an impediment, not that Google Translate would necessarily be the instrument.

Language barriers between warring and non-warring nations have been overcome for centuries.

frankly as a Trump appointee I'm surprised Milley hasn't already taken the fall for the Afghanistan fiasco

So far we are dealing with he said/she said and a Bob Woodward book. Bob has gotten things wrong in the past, and has lived off his Reputation with watergate.

I suspect he did, but will wait for transcripts.

He should have been removed as soon as the Biden administration came into office, not only a Trump appointee but a controversial one at that. Both Presidents Obama and Biden kept too many officials from their predecessor, they have the centrist Democrat failing of trying to be nice to people who feel no imperative to be nice to them.

As for the truth, we live in a world where what is true appears to matter very little any more, what matters is your ability to sell your version of the truth. Facts that don't support our desired truth are denied or buried in increasingly bizarre conspiracy theories. Self evident or easily verificable facts become just part of the conspiracy being sold to you by the government/the MSM/George Soros/the cookie monster, the ridiculously improbably is made to appear a more sensible People can stand on public platforms, flat out tell lies, be called out on their lies and face literally no consequence for them. And yes I am in part referring to the previous President but not to him alone. Just look at the last few days, the Trump campaign putting out a statement claiming the California recall election was rigged despite the outcome being one that a middle school kid with a basic grasp of civics and geography could have called, Sidney Powell making completely baseless claims that Georgia Democrats blow up interns and lets not even get into Giuliani's bizarre ramblings about turning down an honorary knighthood because he would have to give up his citizenship. Good old centrist Democrats try to counter these claims with facts but completely miss that point that those making the claims either know they are not true or don't care if they are true or not, the power of the claims is not located in their truthfulness. It is a depressing state of affairs'.

Anyway I know this is turning into a a political rant and may be canned but hey this whole thread has been political, lets not kid ourselves that this conversation could ever be anything other. Except perhaps for the diversion into Kool Aid, and all I have to say about that is Lemon Lime obviously.
