Does anyone know if these have been sent out yet? My son was expecting to receive one but hasn't heard anything yet and we are a little over a month away from the first session. He doesn't want to bother his recruiting officer if they still haven't been issued.

Hello!

My daughter received hers about 10 days ago. I am sure that it would be OK for him to ask his admissions officer. :)

Many thanks he got in touch with his admissions officer and got it sorted!

Actually anyone admissions feel competitive and like to invite. Not limited to URM and first gen. My DS was invited to Genesis in 2017 and he’s not a URM nor 1st Gen college. In fact he came from a highly competitive district in NY where 1,000 candidates applied to SAs. If you completed your Early Action App prior to the visit and Admissions deem you highly desirable they can let you know your Appointment during Genesis. This is how DS found out he was given Appointment in late October 2017. Good luck to you all prospectives.

@CrewDad , did you go as well? I probably will, since I could not stay on the back end of AIM for the parent session and Genesis invitation specifically mentions parent sessions. Is there any benefit to going earlier vs. later? DD's choices are 10/21-22, 11/04-05, and 11/18-19. I am leaning towards the November dates. Does anyone know how many candidates are invited per session?

I got invited this morning to the program, but I’m a bit confused on the scholarship request. They had a reference link, but it lead to the AIM scholarship request. Is that the same form for Genesis?

Hi There! I had the same question and reached out to ask. They were very kind and sent me a direct link with a different scholarship form attached to it. So, I am not sure what is going on with that invitation link (...or why it directs to the wrong form) but if you give the Admissions office a call, they should be able to get you the correct one. Good Luck!

HCopter. You can go. And stay or stay partially. I didn’t. My family went when DS was again invited to Academy Experience.

Thank you @CrewDad ! I have decided to go!

We won't be eligible for travel scholarship/grant, but for those that are wondering:

The Genesis scholarship form from the initial email was not linked properly; either contact admissions or go to the website for the Genesis scholarship button (the top left box should say Genesis and not AIM on the pdf).
The hotel rate was stuck on the 1st Genesis date of 09/22-24 and I couldn't get it to accept 11/03-05/19. I just went in to the same hotel (Mystic Hilton, NOT Mystic New London Hilton) using my Hilton # and AARP (yeah! also get Denny's discount!) and the rate was $75+ per night for 11/03-05/19. I reserved a National rental car, even though the instructions said there is a shuttle to/from PVD and to/from Hotel. I will likely cancel it since I don't plan on any side trips. Prior posts say Uber to/from PVD is about $50+, and that works out to be much better than a rental car. We are flying Southwest, there is no nonstop flight, and I am becoming a huge fan of SWA since you can cancel and keep the $ credit for any other trip. (Just make sure to keep the record locator # of any cancelled flights).

I dropped off DD for AIM, but could not on the back end (DH went, and wondered if it was a northeastern thing that there were so many boys and girls were named "Aimster"!). I went to Ocean Beach and checked the box "swim in ocean". I'm really looking forward to hearing more about USCGA!

Hope you have a great time HCopter. My DS is attending the 1st week of Genesis. He attended the 1st week of AIM and was awarded the Honor Graduate. I know he is looking forward to trying to see some of his Cadre again!

They gave me a link on the confirmation email which led to the visit website. I clicked on the button, and the link didn't work. Is the link the admissions office provided you different than the one on the visit website?
