I had received a waiver last year through DoDMERB and when I look it says that its under waiver review. I had been told that waivers are good for two years so I was wondering why it would be under waiver review being that I have already received a waiver. Additionally I had received my appointment but tore my ACL in the spring which is another thing that I am currently disqualified for. Is me being disqualified for my ACL the reason why I am also dq'd for my other issue?

You would not have received a waiver through DODMERB actually. You would have received it from whatever program granted it (SA/ROTC/etc).

Your DODMERB EXAM is good for two years, with a required update to your medical history.

DODMERB only decided Q/DQ. Your waiver would have been issued via your appointment program. I’m a little confused on the rest of your post, but clearing up your understanding of who issues the waiver.

Contact your DoDMERB case manager for an accurate answer from your primary source. We could all speculate right along with you, but you need clarity so you know your status.

Good recent discussion here:

Agree with CaptMJ…get clarity from those in the know.

So long as your DoDMERB exam is still good, then your waiver will carry over into the next application cycle. If you have to redo a DoDMERB exam because it’s been more than 2 years, and you get the same DQ, then you will have to undergo the whole waiver process again.

Sounds like this DQ is for having an ACL tear. If you get this repaired, then it’ll be DQ for 12 months after the surgery.
