I'm not going there. Just saying I overhear it. That is one of those hot button controversial topics I stay away from.

I find much assurance and comfort in this forum as well. I just recently had a baby. (yes, husband and I have 2 boys one age 18 and the other a few months old. Almost age 40 and had a surprise baby boy!). Most of my time as a stay home mom of a new baby is spent at playgroups, mommy and me and pediatrician offices. I am always around these young mothers overhearing lengthy discussions about cloth diapering, organic gluten free baby foods and whether or not to vaccinate. Not a single one of these mothers are worrying about their child getting an appointment. Sigh...at least when I come on this forum I am reading about other parents who I share a common concern. I talk about SAT scores or college applications and these millennial mamas look at me like I am an alien. I am grateful to come on here during nap times and feedings to read others posts and I don't feel like that older mom any more. Thank you!

Keep hanging with them. Soon they'll be talking about preschool applications, etc etc. You'll probably be able to calm them down! :D

Baby brother has already got early acceptance to preschool. All the little millennial moms will have to get in line at 4 in the morning to wait several hours to get their assigned number for the application lottery. Many years ago mommy was president of the preschool and helped to write the grant and secure the funding for a new playground. All I had to do was make a phone call and he was in. If only getting my son into a service academy could be that easy. LOL. Just kidding. .he has to earn his spot there on his own.
