I have already received an appointment. However, second semester has been really tough for me so far, as I am juggling three difficult AP classes. Currently I have two A's, one B, and two C's. My two C's are in my most difficult courses( AP Calc BC and AP Physics C). I am just wondering if USNA rescinds due to bad grades. If so, would I get rescinded with the grades that I currently have?

It won’t be rescinded for the grades you posted.

For what reasons would an individual get rescinded?

Arrested, someone reports an appointee for some gross conduct or honor issue, medical, failing your 8th semester. Does it happen? Yes, it’s extremely rare and doesn’t happen without a lot of conversation in admissions. Medical is the most likely scenario and does happen every year to a few unlucky folks who get hurt before I Day. USNA handles each of those separately also. Most end up with an LOA for the next class and told to stay out of trouble, get healthy, stay in shape and take a Plebe like schedule.

What kind of grades would someone have to get to be rescinded?

Showing up under the influence of alcohol on I-Day. They breathalyze every incoming Plebe-To-Be for this very reason.

Acting like a motard, screaming racial epithets, and posting video to support it on Social Media will do it, as well.

If you're planning on having a party, do it well before I-Day and don't take photos of your debauchery and post them on FaceBook. That would be what we call "bad".

It would take some pretty severe grades to have an appointment rescinded. Several Ds in some core courses or an F or two. If you are worried about an A going to a B or even a few Cs, they won’t rescind on that. Finish strong, stay out of trouble.

    That's an over-zealous Marine.
