Getting tingly just thinking about.. Navy Football!!

You all just crack me up. I’m staying incognito. I figure one day I’ll just show up at a USAFA tailgater known to be a SAF haunt, with a minuscule name tag with “Attila” on it, test the waters.

I’m just hoping there is such a thing as a 15-year badge.

JPJ swore this was his last known position, or datum. 🤣
Ok that’s hysterical. I know his lips are sealed. Still looking for the @Capt MJ bat signal. I am envisioning an Atilia the Hunette silhouette with a bacon sword belt. And a cape in the color of Dijon mustard.

Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium ~ great views from every seat in the house  We just snagged tickets to the Memphis game week after next (section 104) and are going to the Tulsa one October 8th as well. As a veteran, it's hard to walk through the lot wearing our Navy gear and not smile from ear to ear while saying hello and Go Navy! to everyone. It's just a great day being around so many current and former service members and their families. Like-minded people doing like-minded things.

I love sports and enjoy going to random stadiums to watch games. There is nothing like Navy Marine Corps Stadium. The environment is just different. It’s safe, inviting, and polite. Of course there are always a few who challenge that, but I love fans and grads will check those out of line, watch out for kids, and generally are inviting. You can strike up a convo with anyone and find a connection with them. The history, tradition and pageantry is also makes it a unique experience. Beat Delaware!

I've been to one game there, 9/11 last year. Talk about a special day and USNA commemorating it, and the loss of alumnus on that day with such class and grace.

DS came and sat with me during the 2nd half. He struck up a conversation with the older gentleman sitting next to him. Turned out to be a USNA graduate. When he told our son how many years he served I didn't think anything of it. When the man left for snacks, my son turned to me and said, "mom, do you know what rank he must have been when he retired?".

Turned out, that we googled him later. He is a distinguished graduate with season tickets. And he hates the 2-minute pauses for advertising.

It's a truly special place where you can bump into first-time fans, kids playing in the grass, kids who just look wide-eyed at smiling MIDN who take pictures with them, moms and dads who are grinning from ear to ear, and those who served decades wearing the uniform.

Can't wait to be there next week. BEAT DELAWARE!

Did you look that up, or did you have it memorized ?
I still have the coordinates from NAS Brunswick hardwired into my brain from all the times I punched it into the INS.
It's actually useful , as any time I see a Lat/Long, I can use it as a baseline to tell where it is ... in this case about (in rough numbers) 5 degrees latitude or about 300 miles south, and 7 degrees longitude west of KNHZ.

That is alot more useful than the response to "Why didn't you say Sir ..." which is also hardwired into my brain.

I looked it up, because I wanted the crypt fix. DH has that line of Under Armour Navy shirts from a few years ago which has the lat-long on them, but it’s not JPJ’s spot. Now you have the crypt, could come in handy sometime. I actually think that would be funny as a logo. Of course, it’s equally true for the Chapel section immediately above. You have to know What Lies Beneath.

Those in the know, please tell me about parking, general ... enter thru gate 1, 3, 3a or 7 only. First game ever this weekend... flying out tomorrow!

We parked street side, admiral heights area, and walked. Free, and “easy” to get out after the game.

Do you have a parking pass? Only those with pre-purchased passes loaded to their phones can enter Stadium parking. Everyone else parks ad hoc at schools, churches and private homes at the going cash rate, or else takes the free shuttle from elsewhere. Street parking is free in the area if you arrive early enough.

I’ll attach the game day guide link.

Don’t forget the Navy stadium follows NFL stadium rules about what you can bring in, especially relating to size of personal bags. Jackets with pockets, clear totes and small wristlets are the way to go.
