Gifts for Sponsor Family?

I just had a lovely conversation with DD's sponsor mother. They are sponsoring several plebes and have asked us to come over and meet them during PPW. Is is appropriate/traditional to bring a gift of some sort? Any ideas as to what is appropriate? Thanks for any insight!
 
I wouldn't go overboard at this point, since you don't know what kind of relationship your plebe and her sponsor will have. A bouquet of fresh flowers might be nice.
 
We brought a fruit basket that the family and Plebes could enjoy. Over time you can step it up depending upon the involvement.
 
Ditto longagoplebe - at this stage especially. The five 2015 plebes we met this past Sunday are dropping by the house on Saturday afternoon with families, for a quick meet-and-greet, and we neither expect nor desire anything, except to say hello, show them the house and get them on their way quickly so as not to deplete precious liberty time. Later, as the relationship develops and settles in, do a search on related threads here about what sponsors appreciate.

There is a lot of flux in the sponsor relationships. Some plebes migrate to other families, some find it's not something they need/want to do, some are headed home...and some sponsor families move, or find they bit off more than they could chew.
 
I am soo excited to find out about my DD's sponsor. I am sooo greatful people care.
