Girls State and SLE Experience

I got selected for Girls State in MA and I was wondering if anyone could share their experience at Girls State/Boys State in any state. I'm going to be attending SLE as well, so if anyone has tips or would like to share their experience, that would be great!

I attended Boys State in AR, it was an awesome experience. As far as tips are concerned I would say to get involved with everything that you can. Be outgoing and run for any offices you have any interest in. I ran for city councilman and state representative and won both. Overall, you'll get out what you put into it, so just go in with 100% and you'll have an awesome time!

My advice for SLE is just go and experience everything. Be yourself and get to know people. Nobody knows each other that first day there. Build connections with your squad and platoon. There are a bunch of people in my platoon I am super close with still. Also, be a leader and do everything 100%. Your squad leader conducts your interview (mine was at the end of the week) and you want them to see you in a good light! Just have fun and see if it’s the place you feel like is meant for you!
