I have heard of informal weddings , but this seems over the top. Most people either cancel their trip and stay with their "one and only" when struck by the Love Bug, or at least decide before they get to the gate! Good luck to them anyway.
I can just see the wedding announcement as printed in the NY Times: "The Bride's ensemble included a lovely grey inflatable neck pillow from Brookstone. The ceremony was delayed for an hour and a half due to bad weather in Chicago. The happy couple will reside in separate continents together!"

A military couple has enlisted the help of a New York airport's staff to get married while awaiting flights to their respective military assignments.

The Times Union of Albany reports that Caitlin Murray and Sean Whitney's spur-of-the-moment wedding occurred Thursday in the observation deck at Albany International Airport. The soldiers, both privates first class, decided to get hitched as they awaited separate flights, hers to North Carolina and his to St. Louis.

I can't wait to see the honeymoon pictures... :yllol:

Good luck too both. The last time I looked at a map North Carolina and St. Louis were on the same Continent but the NYT will probably get it wrong.

Reminds me of when I did my pre-marriage counseling at a large site for A-Schools in the Navy/Marine Corps world and the other couple was a young AD couple nearing A-school graduation: He USMC, her USN who were headed to opposite coasts.

Not sure if they ended up married or not.
