Glasses question

I got my BFE and accepted my appointment a couple months ago. Sent all my paperwork off and now I'm just waiting and all.

I'm just wondering when I get my glasses issued to me for plebe summer. Does that all go down on I Day when they check our vision again? Or will I have my glasses before then for the eye exam?

And while I'm asking, now that I've sent it all off and they've received all of it, will I be receiving any more mail from the admissions office?

Thanks bunches guys, I'm pretty stoked for it all.
If this has been discussed in some other thread, I apologize. Just point me in the right direction and I'll be on my merry way.

Go Navy!

I'm told that we should expect another far larger packet in April, with more to do. The exact contents, no clue.

Glasses, I'm pretty sure we'll receive them on I-Day - though a good idea to bring your own. Something could mess up and we'd stuck with our own for a few days, which I hear happens from time to time.

You should receive your Permit to Report package in April or early May. Among other things, there are a number of medical forms to complete and return. It wasn't an issue for my Mid, but I do remember a form for an eyeglasses prescription that was supposed to be filled in by your optician or optometrist and sent back if you need corrective lenses. USNA will fill the prescription with the "new BCGs", and will have the glasses available for you on I Day. Just in case, take your regular glasses and/or contact lenses. You will not be able to wear the contacts until Plebe Parents Weekend, but in the event there is a problem with the BCGs, at least you will have your own glasses as a back-up until they fix the problem.

I've heard that there's also a mailing in June with our company assignments and mailing addresses.
