Go ARMY! Beat Navy

Okay USNA69 you have a deal. When Army wins you send the BBQ to my son and if Navy gets lucky enough to win I send you smoked salmon and coffee.
(If the logistics of getting the bbq to WP is too difficult, then I will take the backup option of you taking exchange cadets to lunch.)

Jamzmom - I know what I am getting into. This will just make the game that much more fun.

My husband was reading this thread over my shoulder and cracking up. By the way JAM, he LOVES scrapple and I can't stand to even look at it!

LOL - won't catch me eating scrapple or whatever that stuff is down in NC - liver mush? eww.

It is a deal though - I will send down some shoo fly pie and ring bologna - if Navy gets lucky!

:popcorn1: Ok gals. Its ya'lls funeral. 69, I woulda held out for two ring bolognas. You're too easily had. Don't suppose you'd share any of that coffee? Looks like you're making out like a bandit. Don't be selfish when Sunday comes ya hear.

:popcorn1: I woulda held out for two ring bolognas. You're too easily had.

Now, 10 lbs of BBQ is pretty self explanatory, and most everyone, even a died-in-the wool city slicker, knows what a quarter of a hog looks like. Are you trying to tell me that a ring bologna is not about 3" in diameter and a foot long or so? That bet is not solidified yet. JAM is still wiggling. And the bus to Baltimore is getting ready to leave shortly so she had better get off the fence.

Jamzmom - who's side are you on anyway??

OK this is my part - 1 lb ring bologna, 1 shoo fly pie, a BIG tin of pretzels (the really good ones - Unique and mustard too) and a bag of Hershey's chocolate.

Will that do? Sounds like you will have a meal!

I just wanna know how he's gonna get BBQ to West Point!

I just wanna know how he's gonna get BBQ to West Point!

I have not committed to type of BBQ.

1. Find local butcher
2. Find local "shady" individual (should not be hard to do. Woops are notorious for their ability to be duped. I imagine they draw shady characters like shoo fly pie draws flies.
3. Obtain local livestock (preferrably mule)
Do I need to continue?

Personal attacks are not allowed. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ban all of you.

Psyche!

69! She added CHOCOLATE!! Ooooo. I swear if I didn't have this newly found phobia about betting, I'd be all over that.

Z, I should ban myself! This is the most I've ever posted in WP threads ever.

GO NAVY!

Yeah chocolate - I was being cheap by offereing Hershey's - I shoulda offered up Godiva - it's made just down the road, but I would not want to waste that on a man! :shake:

Those Army spirit videos are so lame I doubt even the Woops think the middies can be torpedoed. So, time to lower expectations:

   GO ARMY, BEAT AROCK!

Awww come on - where is the faith??

Army has found it's offence and Navy hasn't had any defense all year - I predict a good game. Remember last year the score was tied at half time.

I also predict that Army is saving the BEST videos for the game!

Jamzmom, dear.

I think JAM lives where you should vacation. Not just Godiva, but also Hershey, Wilbur and Wolfgang (NROTC Old Dominion :shake: ) Chocolates.

And when you've had your fill of chocolate there's chow-chow and pickled watermelon rind.

Well Congratulations go to Navy!

I am very disappointed in Army's offense. I expected a better game than what I saw.

USNA69 send me a pm with your address so I can pay up.

Yep, it was a disappointing game for sure. :frown:
I expected a "game" at least.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the bet! Gee I just have to figure out what it is I owe! A lb of ring bologna, a lb of cheese, a shoo fly pie, a tin of pretzels and a bag of Hershey's chocolate - no way am I wasting Godiva or Wilbur buds on him though! I guess I gotta go shopping.

WaMom - Perhaps do you think he will have forgotten about the bet by the time he gets back to NC?

forget??

USNA69 is from NC, a southern state. We have a saying down here: "fergit? HELL!

I don't think he'll forget.

Fun time even if Army shot themselves in the foot multiple times...

Highlight....the BG in my section who called the MPs because someone cheering for Navy said "whoop @$$". Come on now people, that is just good sailor talk there.

^^^^^My story for this game was, when on the opening kickoff, I stood up. Navy tradition, have done it for nearly 40 years now. Immediately had someone tug on the back of my coat. It was an older man who informed me that I could not stand up during the game as it blocked his wife's view. I guess he expected extra just because he was sitting in the club level, Asked him what class, ignored me. I sat down AFTER the kickoff. During the introduction of the wounded war veterans, I stood up again. He started jerking on my coat, cursing me, and, at one point, grabbed the back of my collar to pull me back into my seat. I, of course, resisted, and just kept continually telling him to keep his hands to himself and I tried to help him do this several times. I guess he eventually realized that he was asking me not to pay my respects to the wounded vets.

Very next touchdown after standing up and high fiving everyone around me, I sat down to a tap on my shoulder. He wanted me also to high five him. I guess that was his way of apologiving. Turns out he was USMMA class of '53 or somewhere in that neighborhood. (edited 5 snide remarks because I know Jamz would kill me),

Luckily I was in a good mood and slighly lubricated from having been wandering around in the parking lot and harassing Woop grads all morning. I discovered that they do tend a mean bar and my scientific study concluded that the more I abused them, the more insistent they were that I have a drink with them. Any psychos (oops, psychologists) around to confirm what this type behavior is called.

The weather was absolutely beautiful. The very best football afternoon I've ever seen. The highlight of the game was the cadet who jumped out of the stands to tackle the goat. It was hysterical.

Congrats to Navy for the win!

Hey, usna69, I was on club level too. I saw at least one guy wearing a USNA 1969 jacket. Could that have been you?
