So here we are, diving into the deep sea of service academy forums…
Hi everyone! I’ve already posted a few notes here and there, so I figured it’s time to introduce myself.
Last year, I retired from the Air Force as a network operations officer, and now my son is interested in joining the military. I shared with him my thoughts on the Coast Guard as an incredible service with a vital mission, and after doing his research, he fell in love with everything about the Coast Guard.
He turned down other athletic offers, let other teams know he’s fully committed, and set his sights solely on the Coast Guard Academy.
We self-toured the campus in July, completed his application in August, received the LOA in September, and cleared DoDMERB in October. Now, we’re just hanging tight and waiting for the next step. I’m so excited for him and thrilled that he’s forging his own path in a different service.
