Okay just found out that I recieved a four year scholarship to my top 3 schools: Georgetown, Princeton, and UChicago. (Originally I didn't get it first board, but apparently cadet command made a mistake and they called and told me my portal had been updated today).

Obviously, I must be admitted into these schools (thank god that at Princeton ROTC plays a role in admissions) I'm also otherwise "qualifed" (as qualifed as one can be for schools such as these)-- excellent ACT, grades, sports, extracurriculars, Black (apparently they need more minorites?) fluent in 3 languages etc, etc.

What I want to know now is if there is anything I need to do from the ROTC side. I've gotten my physical and eye exam, so is there anything else?

Accept the scholarship by the date indicated on the award letter.

And you have to accept to a particular school at that point? What if I don't know what school I want? Also, acceptances won't be out at that time yet, right?

Correct. You can wait until right before the deadline to submit your choice. If you do not get admitted to the school you chose, then there is a way to apply to transfer the scholarship to another school, it explains how to do that in the letter you will get, and there are many threads on here on that subject. You can try talking to Admissions at your school of choice and explain the situation and see what they say. Good luck and congratulations!

so you only received a call?
my son received an email that was the same as the letter that had the documents required to accept.
call cadet command and ask them to email the packet.
i think he had 3 weeks to accept.
with the first board it is common to have to accept the scholarship prior to school acceptance

Okay. Here is the thing tho, I applied
early to Chicago and Georgetown so I'll know if I got in before I accept, but if I accept the scholarship at one of those schools, will Princeton not be able to put a word in for me at admissions? (I'm applying RD to Princeton). Like I said, I'm otherwise qualifed, but competition is fierce.

At some point you have to pick.
plenty on here about transferring scholarships, happens all the time but not 100%.
the sure thing is, miss the deadline and your scholarship goes away.
contact the ROOs at all three, talk with them
do it soon, you have a lot at stake
treat it like your entire future depends on it

Will do. Though I haven't gotten a letter or an email or anything so I can confirm and accept the scholarship

I will ask for you, has anyone received their letter, and what was the deadline on the letter to accept? Anyone?

The date will be the same for everyone. If you get close to the deadline you can call Cadet Command and they will help you accept, my daughter's experience has been that they are easy to work with.

Also, congratulations, that is AMAZING!!!! And I second everyone that has said it before. Call the ROO's at all three schools. Two of my duaghter's schools called her before she had a chance to hit send on an email to them, so they definitely want to connect with you!

Thanks! Georgetown already contacted me, so I'm just waiting on Chicago and Princeton. I'll probably accept it a Princeton, since it plays a role in admissions, and is the most expensive/ prestigious of all those schools. Even though all there are fantastic universities

Congrats, great story with the "late notification" from CC! My DS was a 1st Board Select, hasn't received his letter yet....has been told it could take 7 - 10 days from notification date.
Also, it is very possible to transfer to differant schools over the next few months. Step 1: Accept the offer, pick a school. If you change your mind (or get accepted to a differant school you want to attend), then you can work with the respective Battalions on a transfer. I've heard rumors that the deadline for "easy" transfers in sometime in April of your senior year. You can also transfer after you arrive to college, but it's much more difficult, and you're likely to get a quick education on the "needs of the Army."

Only one has the Hoya battalion...

Make sure you are choosing your school based on where you want to be, and where you would want to be if you did NOT have the ROTC scholarship. It is also very important to try to choose a college you can afford WITHOUT the ROTC scholarship, as sometimes, as we found out, things happen that are totally out of your control and totally unexpected....I will have a post on that in a month or so, but there are many old posts advising the same thing.
It is a tough decision, but visit the schools, talk to the battalions, talk to other students, both cadet and regular, talk to people from your major, and then try to choose the perfect fit!

That doesn't make sense. University of Chicago ED is binding, meaning that you have signed a commitment to attend the school if admitted, withdraw applications to all other colleges and apply to no additional colleges. Georgetown's EA program specifically prohibits you from applying to any binding ED programs since then you would not be free to select Georgetown.

Quite honestly, ROTC is the only way I could afford college at any of those reach schools at all (Gtown, Pton, UChicago). I have good, but not as prestigious schools that I would attend should things fall through (OSU, University of Cincinnati, a few HBCUs).
I actually want be in the army too.

Chicago has both an ED and an EA application. I applied EA to Georgetown and U Chicago. They are both open, and I am completely free to apply early. Maybe you are confused because Chicago used to only have EA, but this year that created an ED program? Now there are two ways to apply early at Chicago basically, EA (non binding) and ED (binding). Why would I not extensively research the admissions policies of the schools I want to attend? lol this has been my life for the last six months

I'm aware... what's your point? I can transfer right? And if not... then I'll have to make do at Princeton. (if I get in of course). I mean that doesn't sound horrible lol. Though Georgetown SFS is the center of all things Foreign Service. I majoring in International Relations and Economics. Minoring in Arabic and French.

I will throw my 2 cents in (on the open market worth less than that even) on the selecting a school you can afford without ROTC as we have had 3 now go through the scholarship/school search.

There are 2 ways of thinking of it, choose a school you could afford anyway, or choose a school that ROTC/sports, etc let you go to that you would not likely be able to afford otherwise. Honestly, I think both are fine. We had a very serious discussion during the ROTC A, B, C backup plan discussion, and also during the sports recruiting for our other 2 kids. Basically we let them know they could select a school they wanted to go to they could afford anyway, and then if sports or ROTC did not work out they could stay there. OR they could select a "dream" school one that is only affordable with the a scholarship with strings (have to stay with sports, ROTC etc) completely understanding that things can happen outside of their control. If something goes wrong they will need to transfer, or in the ROTC case owe money back on top of it. They all 3 wanted the financial stretch school.

It can go either way, just have an informed decision, you definitely seem to think things out and do your research. I see nothing with choosing those stretch schools.

I'm aware... what's your point?
For your major GU is the best choice and HOYA battalion is excellent. Where else will you have guest speakers like the secretary of
Defense or the chairman of joint chiefs of staff (retired). DS studied IR at AU and had an internship at homeland security MSIV year. You won't get that in Jersey. I think your first choice should be the school that has the best program for your intended major.
