Congratulations...He is clearly an outstanding and remarkable young man. He (and the entire family) is going to have a very exciting journey.
May you all be blessed!

Congratulations!!! Our DS got his call this past Monday from Senator Warner (Virginia). He also thought it was a telemarketer. Pretty funny!

Brovol-lol

Falconsrock- lol, We would certainly have to introduce them. He is pretty shy with the ladies. When he was in Jr. high I thought his career path would be laying on a beach playing a ukulele and renting dive tanks but he has blossomed well. I am trying to find a time soon when I can take him to USAFA for a visit.

Do the appointee tour in April if at all possible. We did it and it was a great way to see the campus. Your appointee will get to shadow a cadet for a few hours and the parents get a separate tour. I felt it was worth the time and money.

Rob do the appointees do overnights with the cadets at USAFA? Thanks!

Not that I am aware of. The only overnight that I am aware of is summer seminar and your DS is clearly past that stage. I recommend the appointee tour if you can swing it. I was glad we went. It was the closest thing to a college "visit" for the DS. Twins? Not a WP cadet in the bunch? Heartbreaking? Congrats on the tremendous success of your boys!!

The appointee tour sounds like the way to go. And yes, my boys apparently were not enamored with my armor and infantry life. They have chosen the much more gentlemanly pursuits of boats and airplanes. :)

Apparently I need to read those signatures a little closer!!

Today the initial excitement of his USAFA appointment had settled down a bit and DS checked his USNA portal and he was stunned to see an LOA! Wow!
I still think USAFA is his first choice but he has a little soul searching to do. He still is a nominated candidate at USMA as well but he thinks he should probably withdraw that application after these developments. He is stunned to have this choice.
