How to explain my children difference between government and politics? Any suggestions, please.

Government is a body of elected officials which help run a country. You can also explain the importance of voting and the electoral college. I'd also explain how all 3 branches work, and are selected.

Politics is hard to define. I usually define it as a party system, where each party holds a core set of values. (Assuming we're talking about American politics) You can explain the two major parties, and maybe some of the less heated opinions of each. Taxes, spending, something along those lines.

How old are your kids?

Government is the formation of either centralized or decentralized organizations theoretically intended to promote the common needs of the people (at least in a republic).

Political activities specifically refers to the process of gaining and maintaining governmental power, usually through campaigning or other means of persuasion.

Simply put for youngsters, one is the organization that helps run things smoothly (or not). The other refers to how people compete get elected in charge of those same organizations.

Thank you for this information. Perhaps I writing this in my study blog.
