how bad do your grades have to be for west point to take your appointment away from you.

Good question. Not that I would try less on my academics, but is there a point where they'd take it away?

Seriously - just what are we talking about here? If you are worried about getting a "B" don't. Obviously, if you are in danger of not graduating that is not good.

Your final transcripts must be sent to West Point.
Don't succumb to "senioritis" - this is not a time to get lazy. You want to finish strong.

i am talking about getting like a D or 2 on your report card how would they look at that

Ya, or other non-core classes that you don't need to graduate high school.

Chemistry? History? Not good - even if your appointment is not revoked. You will take both of those classes when you are a plebe.

I have one other question if i bring these up to Cs, get mostly Cs on my report card do you think they will take my appointment away

chiazo,

believe me i know where you are coming from and i know how hard it is to stay focused especially when you have achieved your primary high school goal, to get accepted to a service academy and to open up endless possibilities for yourself in the future and to most importantly serve your country, and i also know it doesnt help when we only have two months of school left however it is very important to keep/get your grades up and to finish strong. To get mostly C's on your report card is equivalent to saying that you are and "average" student. While this is alright for most people an "average" student does not have the drive to compete with the "cream-of-the-crop" students for an appointment to a service academy let alone the drive to obtain one. you are obviously not an average student, considering you are going WP, so therefore you shouldnt lower your standards to that of an average student. Once again i am also fending of senioritous and know how easy it is to get lazy. just do your best and youll have nothing to worry about. oh and GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY! :thumb:

the government has spent a lot of money to get us appointments, and to trust you enough to give you one- they know you must be a good student. This being said, the chance of losing your appointment to my understanding is very low unless you show a --pattern-- of decline in many areas; one rough class won't eliminate you. The idea is to be reasonable, not just completely drop the ball.

I've approached it as a balance: experience senior year and enjoy the last bit of free time I'll have for 10 years--- but also have enough pride and be within reason, to get at least B's in class.
