Grades Slipping?

I have read threads where candidates are talking about sending in Sr. grades. My first semester just ended and I earned A's in all my classes. However, with the start of the second semester, I picked up a few more difficult classes and the classes that I am already in seem to be getting harder. I, by no means, intend to slack off, but the reality is that A's this second semester probably won't come as easily. I already accepted my offer of appointment. How poorly would I have to do in order to have my appointment recinded? For the record, I guess this question is more or less out of curiosity and not full-fledged concern. Thanks.

To have your appointment recinded because of 2nd semester grades (word on the street is that it hasn't happened in a few years), you would have to really screw up, like straight C's or some Ds/Fs

If the classes are hard and you are not slacking it will show in your grades, work hard and you'll have nothing to worry about ;-)

What about one D and the rest A's and B's? And, does it matter if the D is high or low or simply that it is a D? This has probably been answered somewhere before but I cannot find it and now that it is down to the wire, I am starting to worry. Thanks for any information.

You'll not find the definitive answer here. Only speculation, some from experience, but none the less speculation.

I suspect your worry may be merited, but late in coming. Hopefully not too late. Good luck. Keep working. Seek mercy.

Does anyone know if the admissions people factor in grading scales? My school has a seven point scale meaning an A is a 94. The other schools in my area have a ten point scale(90 is an A). This effects GPAs. Would that make me less competitve if my GPA is lower because of the grading scale?

USNA does not consider GPAs unless your school cannot provide a class standing. They do, however, factor certain courses into one's overall point total so that good grades on targeted courses are accounted. And yes, your transcript will point out to them the grading scale.
