I have a question, my engineering teacher has not graded any of my assignments, procrastinates, and I feel he is going to give everyone a C, hearing this from other people in his classes. Would that cause me to lose my appointment to the USMMA? I am fearful of losing my appointment.

a C will not kill you. i got several Cs in high school, and even more of them here at KP, now i'm 28 days from license, and about 7 weeks from graduation! keep your grades as high as possible and don't freak out

Thank you, this has help me settle some of my nerves, several C's as in your last semester grades? Before you went off to the academy?

JSF-35: Don't freak out. As Is2Day told you, a couple of C's during your last term of senior year aren't going to cause your appointment to be pulled. Going through some old papers that needed to be filed, I came across my DS's report card for his senior year. I had forgotten how much his grades slipped during his last trimester in HS! He's now a 4th classman in his last trimester and is doing quite well.

Now, maybe if you flunked just about everything or got straight D's, and you were already a marginal candidate . . . who knows? But I'm assuming that's not going to happen to you.

quick life lesson for you that if you learn it now will make KP much easier.
even if your teacher is a lazy bum, there's no need in making excuses. if you get a C then you get a C, end of story. :thumb:

Is2day: I don't see that JSF-35 is making any excuses; he is just fearful that a C in a course would cause a loss of his appointment and he is afraid that nothing that he can do will result in a different grade than a C (unless of course, he drastically underperforms and gets a D or F!).

Perhaps you are just getting at the issue that JSF-35 should concentrate on learning the material in the course, regardless of what grade he gets. THAT will be the most useful thing that he can do under the circumstances to help himself down the road at KP. And he may indeed encounter a similar circumstance at KP (although we can all certainly hope not). Learning the course material is the important thing, not the grade. That is, of course, now that he knows he's not going to lose his appointment!

Thanks for the clarification! I worry like about this teacher, the entire class is filing academic grievances if anything bad happens! Thanks for your help everyone.

Does the academy have you bring your second semester grades to indoc?

Interesting because I have not heard anything from them yet. What if I am not able to get my report card from my college because of costs that I cannot pay for?

Also, my english class required us to be enrolled in an online english lab that has us work on various assignments. The problem is that even if I log in all the hours if I do not complete every assignment it goes onto my grades as a not pass. The class is only pass not pass, and out teacher said to not bother with it because it didn't count for gpa, grade in the class, or transferring credits(Which i couldn't do to the academy anyways). So if I am not able to finish this the academy will not count that as and F and disqualify me correct?

I would try to get a pass in the class then there will be no questions, so just do the assignments if humanly possible. To me a no pass reads the same as a fail. Can it be dropped?

No it cannot be dropped for some reason but I can talk to the office about not having it on because it is wholly unnecessary it is really only part of the college to help the students staying there for four years and I am going to be there for a semester. And my teacher explicitly stated that it does not count as a fail at all and should not be considered one if this unnecessary and unusable work is not complete.
