I love my job but I love it more during this season than others. Today the Crimson Tide of the Army battalion contracted seven Cadets during the first lab of the fall semester. Thanks to all the parents who raise these great Americans.

I should mention that 4 were National winners, 2 were Campus-based, and 1 was an LTC Grad student.

We have more to follow but this was a noteworthy first day of class.

'Bama that is great news. How many took the AFPT? How many passed? Just talked with DS who is an MSII, they had the AFPT for the MSI cadets this morning. He said maybe 14-15 cadets took the test and thought the pass rate was 50%. DS was to be a mentor to 2 cadets but neither could be found nor were they on the roster.

These first few days are like nailing jello to a tree. I've got 24 Clarkson Freshmen that told me they want to be in the program. I probably won't know for two more weeks who is going to be with us and who is not. These are only the first tiny shaky steps for this cohort. What's even more fun is to see the MS IVs roll in fresh off LDAC (or CLC or whatever we call it now) ready to take the reins. It's fun and crazy and stressful to herd the cats that are the MS Is, but working with the MS IVs to get ready to herd those cats...I enjoy that too.

APFT is tomorrow for incoming 4-year scholarship Rats at VMI. I'll let you know how we perform..... I failed it (sit ups) a month ago so wish me luck on this one where it counts!

Good luck tomorrow! Remember to hydrate tonight and tomorrow morning (not too much though).

This posting thread is very encouraging to us parent/stalkers. Thanks for the enlightening and inspiring peek into your world.

UPDATE: Got a 257/300 and really did well on everything. Contracting at 1400!

For the VMI incoming MS1s we had 42 4-year scholarship winners, and as far as I saw only a couple didn't pass the sit ups.

Bama, how many 4 year scholarship winners did you have this year? Clarkson, how about you? Was this more or fewer than last year?
