Greatest Day of my Life

Well done. Time for you to now reach out to all who helped you land this offer of appointment — teachers who did references, proctor for CFA, friends who helped prep essays and interviews, parents who’ve supported throughout. And not just a cursory thank you, but a heartfelt gesture of appreciation.

The go run...and run...and run. And spent quality time with your loved ones.

Thank you all for the kind words and support. This forum was invaluable for me to learn more about the process, especially seeing as I am the first American in my family and college works a bit differently here compared to other countries.

To all the other applicants out there who are in my shoes or who will perhaps be in my shoes one day, do not give up! Do well at university if you decide to choose that path and involve yourself in the community.

It is crazy that I was wait listed six days ago and that I was called today regarding an appointment to the Naval Academy. It goes to show that you can never really assume anything about this process.

Just finished at the gym and received a call from my Senator saying I received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. I was just waitlisted last week and I am in complete shock.
Unreal...congrats to you! Deja vu and hope for others waitlisted...this is the exact same scenario we lived through last year. DS waitlisted only to get an appointment a few weeks later. Don't get down...there is still hope for others and even if you get declined this year, apply again! A year later and a few weeks away from Herndon, I can only say the USNA experience is invaluable. If you embrace the challenges that come (COVID and all) the transformation you will go through is unbelievable. Good luck to you and enjoy every moment.
