I hope i make it-the job I'm in now isn't for me, and I feel like i can contribute more and show my true character and potential with brass upon my shoulders.

Welcome to the forum. What is your AFSC? What are your educational goals? What are your long-term career goals?

Going from enlisted to commissioned status is a big jump. I like the fact that you said you could "contribute" more. Having a "I can help the USAF" focus will take you much farther than "The USAF can help me" attitude. Very similer to what JFK said when he was President.
