Today is your big day! Question for you - Since we have not had much winter this year - Does Winter start today or is it canceled this year and are we moving on to Spring? :shake: :yllol: :biggrin:

I say we shoot the damned groundhog and be done with it. :shake:
 
Marinate and place in a slow cooker. Those things'll soften up any meat! :shake:
 
run it over w/ a humvee a couple of times, ive been told it doubles as a great tenderizer

GROUNDHOG STEW

1 Groundhog
2 onions, sliced
1/2 cup celery, sliced
Flour
Vinegar and water
Salt and pepper
Cloves

Clean groundhog; cut into serving pieces. Soak overnight in a solution of equal parts of water and vinegar with addition of one sliced onion and a little salt. Drain, wash, and wipe. Parboil 20 minutes, drain, and cover with fresh boiling water. Add one sliced onion, celery, a few cloves, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook until tender; thicken gravy with flour.
 
I think a good 'ole keel hauling would have been due if winter were going to continue.

My recipe for ground hog stew is very similiar to yours:

GROUNDHOG STEW

1 bottle good dry red wine

Parboil 20 minutes, drain, and cover with fresh boiling water. Add one sliced onion, celery, a few cloves, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook until tender; thicken gravy with flour. Throw away stew. Drink wine.

You know USNA69, if you don't believe my story about the groundhog climbing the tree. I’ll tell you about the time my cousin and I tried to make a deer snare with a small tree.

Rep, even though I am not sure what this thread is about, it is apparant that you are attempting to hijack it, which makes even less sense since there was not really a subject of the thread to start with.

Obviously, your actions combined with WP's absence leads me to believe that you are in the employ of WP with specific instructions to disrupt this thread.

With all that, we do have a black bear problem on my parents farm. I called the Wildlife agent to relocate it. He then informed me that he could not do this. When I told him that I would then shoot it, he informed me that that was also not possible. I then informed him that I have an 87 year old mother permanently in a wheelchair, a 91 year old dad who likes to wander around outside at night chewing tobacco since he is not allowed to do it in the house, that they have one three legged dog to which they were very attached, and another that is 16 years old and that if I see the bear, it is history. Fill me in quick on the dancing thing. Maybe I can legally get away with that.

Now, back to the tree climbing. When these "ground hogs" were climbing the tree, did they kind of whistle or did they meow? And by any chance, were any of them kind of orange colored with a lot of white spots?
