Old utility tunnels under USAFA?
Old utility tunnels under USAFA?
Yes, ma’am. Back to you!Old utility tunnels under USAFA?
The ONLY reason I guessed this is because I have been in the USNA utility tunnels that used to carry steam heat for the radiator systems from the old steam plant. And, “Mitchell” just screams Air Force. Those radiators have all been switched to more modern HVAC systems now. I was in one of the sets of quarters near the USNA parade field, and on certain days, you could see steam escaping through very green patches of grass in a linear pattern on the field. I’ve also been in similar tunnels at my university back in the last century. I’m not sure it’s a good sign I know these tunnels on sight.Yes, ma’am. Back to you!
No, sorry.London, Westminster Abbey
I need to check this thread more actively. I've only recognized a couple of the pics and that was one of them. The whole campus is amazing, but the Law Quad is magical.Bingo! Month is correct, too.

I swear this is a softball. Need a country, city and building.

Irelandwith St. Patrick inscribed on the stone I would guess Ireland.. city, maybe Dublin.. building? I have no idea.. but likely a church..
Bazinga! Exactly.St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Alex Trebek (bless his heart, truly) would not allow it, but almost.Shoot I don't know.. SWAG.. St. Patricks Roman Catholic Church?
@Skipper07 You're not incompetent shipmate; perhaps a bit green is all.. and we all were at one time..Even after we’ve discussed my incompetence? I’m honored.
I’d have to guess the Galápagos Islands, but I don’t know enough about them to be more specific.
@Capt MJ sound analyses there.. It's on your list.. Last hint: once you're wideawake you can play one of the best golf courses in the world.. NOTBased solely on thinking about where Royal Navy ships of that era would have called in for water and supplies enroute to or from SA (from reading the Jack O’Brian Captain Aubrey series), and because I think Darwin went south around South America to the Galapagos, and also because of the naturalist mission, here are my SWAGs in rank order:
Cape Verde Islands
Azores
Ascension Island
Canary Islands
Madeira (we know the Brits had a strong trading foothold there)
And why not, St. Helena’s Island
I was trying to cross-analyze likely BEAGLE re-supply ports with places where modern-day lighterage operations were required.
Of course, it may not be any of these or an island setting at all, as I would assume BEAGLE called in at various SA ports on both coasts.
Let us know if my darts hit anything at all, and if so, others can continue the analysis. I’ve been to the Azores, Madeira and Canary Islands, but my memory has them with a more lush appearance, but like Hawai’i, much depends if you are on the windward or leeward side of any mountain chain that might impact rainfall.
Emoji-riddled riddles, argh. Bolding. Little planes and a NOT-golf-guy.@Capt MJ sound analyses there.. It's on your list.. Last hint: once you're wide awake you can play one of the best golf courses in the world.. NOT
