Technically, no. You dont have to have it cut. But, if you're planning on going to a service academy or the military in general, I'd crop it down. I used to have longer hair as well, and I was attached to it. But once I got it buzzed, I realized that 1) it looks a lot better and 2) it is much easier to manage.

Long story short, there are no requirements, but I would suggest it. Which session are you, btw, I'll be there session 3.

If I were to attend as a mid, I would cut it, I just don't want to cut for this summer lol. Session 2

I'm going to session 2 as well! Do you know what "taps" means?

"Taps, taps, lights out. All hands turn into your bunks. Maintain silence about the decks." (Classic ship announcement)

Taps is essentially the end of the day's activities, and unless on watch, it's time to hit the rack.

Lol I get it. Well, you don't have too (unless it's like...really long), plenty of guys have longish hair, not military style.

Thank you sir!

No need to "crop it down" for NASS...but you may stick out and attract attention. Not necessarily a bad thing if you have the moxie to pull it off. (I have a classmate who showed up with a full mane on I-day, and is still known for it).
