So i know it sounds kind of petty...but as a fourth class cadet entering at BCT, do i (a woman) NEED to cut my hair to a certain lenghth?
Or can i leave it long and just put it in a bun?

Ive read up on it and seen both ways...what is the current policy?

I read a post somewhere on here not too long ago saying that when you get to BCT they will have someone there that has you put your hair in a bun. If you can do it neatly it a certain amount of time you are good. If not, you get in the hair cut line. Hope that helps. :thumb:

The female cadre will get you for having hair out of regs, so if it is longer, be able to quickly put it in a bun. This is just my observations from BCT (I'm a guy).

for guys:
i was thinking of getting my haircut to the 1.5 clipper standard in the instructions book the day before i leave which means I should still have some hair, will they still shave it off when I get to in-processing? I was looking at last year's pictures and it looked like guys who had their hair already really short were allowed to keep that while guys who had longer hair had it completely shaved off, is that how it works?
