The DW & I watched the musical on Disney Plus over the 4th of July weekend.
For those who didn't get the chance to travel to NYC & pay $outrageous$ 2nd-hand seller prices, I highly recommend it. We did pay those $$ to see it live, but I liked the film just as much. The film has tight close-in shots of the actors so you see their facial expressions, & you can re-watch it to catch the intertwining of the stories, the off-hand puns, etc.
$6.99 for the month; you can cancel after that, & Broadway ain't opening up this year so... check out a historical musical!! History & music...who knew!!

Just saw it on DisneyPlus for the first time. Wasn't even excited about it but when we heard our college student daughter had a Disney Plus account we could watch it on we thought we would check it out. It was outstanding one of the best things I have seen in the past year, if not the best. I love musicals on stage but thought a filmed version of a musical seemed really sad. I didn't think the film aspect detracted from it at all.

Pro trip - we couldn't understand the rapped lyrics at the beginning at all - use subtitles to better follow the show. The female cast members sang rather than rapped and I preferred them - they were amazing.
