Hi all!

I'm looking at the USMMA, CMA, TMA and MMA for colleges. For TMA, MMA, and CMA, im looking at the SSO program (formerly the Merchant Marine Reserve), and I was curious about my medical eligibility.

I'm in top shape, I run Track and Cross-Country, and I'm in AFJROTC and USNSCC, so I have proven I can run/march/walk with no issues. I recently discovered that I have 3 hammertoes. 2 on my right foot and one on my left. They've never given me issues, and quite frankly, I didnt really know what they were until my friend said something to me. I went for my yearly physical, and I pointed them out to my doctor, and she really could only see one of them, and that was after some angling of my feet, so they are not too bad.

AR 40-501 says that basically they are a disqualifier ONLY IF they impair my ability to run/walk/march/jump/wear military footwear. I have gotten a referral to a podiatrist to see what they say. When I go to DoDMERB, if they ask me about them and I say that they give me no issues, would they still DQ me? If so, in your experience, would this be a hard waiver to get?

Thank you very much, I'm just slightly concerned, and would love to hear what you all have to say about my predicament!
