70 years and going strong. I can still sing the Divison Song - painfully and horribly mandated by the Brigade Commander to be song by all Lieutenants in the 3d Brigade at a Brigade Dining In long ago ("We have a rendezvous with destiny ...") - be happy that you aren't nearby to hear my warbling!
Happy Birthday to all Screaming Eagles - and especially those who as part of the 101st have spent multiple years cycling through Iraq and Afghanistan for the past 10 years and who are rotating thru yet again at the end of this year. As the song says: "Keep your eyes on the job to be done. We're the Men of the 101st- we'll fight till the battle's won"!
Happy birthday to one of the storied units of the Army. From Normandy , thru Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan - the Division has set one heck of a standard. Happy birthday and for those still at Ft Campbell- enjoy the "week of the Eagles" celebration.
