Has anyone EVER succeeded after waiver decline?

How long did it take to appeal the denied waiver, and who did you send your DD's letters and additional medical information? Thank you!

Hello to all. My son received a National Scholarship for the AF ROTC, was DQed and recently rejected during the automatic waiver process. We were never asked for any details and are shocked by the decisions that have occurred. To whom should we send an explanation? Does anyone have an example of a doctors letter sent in to properly state the condition / situation?

Could you assist in my sons matter?

My son is in the process of applying for a medical waiver for the AFROTC pertaining to ADD. The TSgt has requested a letter from his physician that she can send up. His Doctor is requesting guidance on the format of how this letter should written. Does anyone have an example of one that they would share?

Hello -- our daughter had a medical waiver that was denied. She did appeal the decision and was given a full appointment after submitting her letters from the doctor and coaches. We are happy to help if we can.

Thanks!
Could you share more of your experience? Did the Waiver Authority tell you what information you needed or did you come up with it on your own?

I don't know if anyone can help me in my situation or give me great advice? I have been in ROTC for four semesters, and the only thing that's been holding me up from being contracted is my medical situation with DODMERB. I have been healthy and active my entire life, and never had any major medical issues. Come September (if DODMERB doesn't deny my waiver) will be a year since I have been active with my DODMERB process/case. DODMERB has bullcrapped me multiples times in the past, which dragged out my process for the longest as a result compared to most cadets. They had me pay out of pocket for remedials I should have never had to in the first place, and when they finally agreed to have DODMERB pay for those remedials, they requested the same information i sent to them that they needed for those remedial I had paid out of pocket for, and denied I ever sent that information to them. Also to mention, they comtnously had me do more remedials that i passed twice and were cleared for by doctors, that my NCOIC and CAPT had to contact the headboss and change my case over to Army instead to have those remedials removed. The last remedial I have on file now is shortness of breath. I had to take a methacoline challenged test, that the nurse said I failed and had asthma. I've never had any breathing problems before in my life only except for one time when I was super stressed out. The test is a 5 step process (Non-stop, tiring, and 1 1/2 long) and only one out of the five steps dipped low ,while everything else was normal the nurse told me. I asked for the nurse to go over the results with me in detail, and was told I had to wait to hear from DODMERB. I know dodmerb is goimg to deny my waiver for this. But if they do, is there any way i can challenge it??? Like i said i've never been diagnosed with asthma, and was told by two other doctors that I did not have it. Thanks to anyone who can help.

DoDMERB only qualifies and disqualify. Commissioning source is the one that will determine if they will waive you. Thus, if you do get DQ you need to work it AROTC since they are your commissioning source.

It is best to start a new thread if you have a question rather then tack onto a thread started 5 yrs ago. Most of those people are long gone from here and/or it gets confusing knowing which question people are replying to. None of us work for DODMERB.
