Has anyone received results from the January Board

Yes. My daughter heard from one of her three schools this afternoon. The ROO emailed her and offered congratulations that she had been awarded a 4-year scholarship to all three of her schools! The formal packet will arrive by mail after February 2nd. She’s so excited and we’re very proud of her. She’s still waiting for acceptance to one of the schools, and hope that happens before she has to decide where to commit the scholarship. Wishing all the other applicants best of luck!

Care to share which ROO can’t follow directions???

I was traveling yesterday and didn’t get a chance to tell you all that results are expected to be released by Friday if all goes as planned. Hopefully the vast majority of programs will abide by the rules and some of you will be hearing from your schools on Friday or this weekend. The applicants on Clarkson’s list will be contacted via email...winners on Friday...not selected probably Monday, and the ones that haven’t completed their file I’ll try to motivate on Tuesday. That’s how I do it. You may get a phone call from a ROO or PMS...You just see your status change on Friday and not hear from anyone.

Good luck to all of you, but don’t panic if your status doesn’t change on Friday. You may still get a third round offer, you may still get a campus based offer, and there are still many paths to becoming an Army Officer if that’s your goal.
Clarkson is correct. Schools were instructed to wait on notifying. That ROO is jumping the gun

Cadet Command should take additional scholarships from them and apply it to those schools that actually follow orders.

I'm new to this. I have to say Clarkson, you seem to be professional, straight up and helpful. Just wanted to say thanks.
I agree! If I have another child who is interested in going ROTC, I would definitely have them look at Clarkson based on what I have seen on this forum. Thank you!

Not sure why my schools haven't been updating me recently....like about the results coming out soon.

My DD went through the first board. She got no heads up from any school that results were pending. I guess it depends on the schools that you list. None of the ROOs at the schools from her top 3 felt it necessary to inform her. Not a big deal to my DD. Results came out 4 days after the board concluded.

Because we were told not to. Military orders are orders you follow...
I think they mean emails like promoting their program, or reminding people about deadlines and things like that. I’ve been getting a lot of emails in the past 2 weeks from ROO’s at schools on my list promoting their program, and saying the board should have results soon, yet none of them have gone any further than telling me they think I’m competitive.

Son just texted me. Very frustrated after reading some of the forum. DS was emailed yesterday from a school not on his list saying he was very competitive, etc. and good luck, He is pretty much exhausted on the AROTC process after completing everything this past August. The saving grace is he is MO NROTC and the Captain wants him to redo his PFT with the Gunny tomorrow. One of his MC sponsors (Former Marine Officer) went into the Recruiting office Tuesday (just found this out) and spoke with the Captain and hand delivered a letter of recommendation. They told him to come in and knock out the PFT and that he is their #3 MO selection out of the 4 they have in mind for the award. The top two kids got awarded in the first board. I'd prefer him go AROTC but he is pretty focused on the MO NROTC program. Think the AROTC process has burned him out. Even more frustrating to him is he has already been accepted to every school for the AROTC and the MO NROTC scholarships. Good luck to everyone and keep your chin up!

Good luck to you and everyone else! The PMS I interviewed with told me I was very competitive as in "top 30%" but we'll see what happens! Hoping he's right! Fingers crossed!

DS just received a voicemail on my cell phone from his first choice ROO saying to call him on his cell because he has info for him! He didn’t call after the first board. Surely this is good news!! I hope so and now I’m kicking myself for not answering!!! Better that DS talk to him anyway but STILL!

DS received a text from his 3rd choice saying "ROTC scholarships will be released soon. Make the most of your ROTC scholarship at the _ _ _. We have financial benefits that can be added to an ROTC scholarship." He didn't get this on the first board. He did get an email saying he wasn't selected on the first board. Keeping our fingers crossed that this is a good sign!!

Not sure why he would be frustrated, the application process for an AROTC Scholarship is spelled out pretty clear. Complete the application by certain deadlines to meet the following three Boards. Applicants will be selected by all three boards and the dates are listed for each board. Those that are not selected by the first board will roll over to the next, the same goes for the second board.

There are many applicants that are deemed very competitive, more then will be offered scholarships. Being told that they are very competitive is not a guarantee to be selected by the first board, the first board selects very few winners by comparison to the next two boards.

While it's hard to wait for any results it should not be frustrating, Cadet Command has stated that the results would be out by Feb. 1st, it sounds like they may come earlier then that based on a couple previous posts, not sure why that would be frustrating. If he is Exhausted or Burned Out with the AROTC process, which seems to be running right on schedule, before it's even completed, then he will really be exhausted when it comes time for Component Selection, Branch Selection, Post Selection, BOLC dates and so on, all of which can have much longer wait times and deadline dates that come and go.

I'm sure your son understands that the NROTC-MO is a scholarship that is also awarded on a National level, a recruiter may state that they are a top recommendation but it still goes through a National process, the recruiting office doesn't give the scholarship.

Seeing that a few ROO's (none on this board) have disregarded orders not to notify applicants but have done so anyway, it sounds like the results will be out soon.

I can't emphasize enough having had two sons go through this process and commission in the Army, patience is a virtue. Not only during the scholarship process and all through ROTC but the entire time they are in the military.

Best of luck to your son.

It seems that all ROO's are not created equal when it comes to following the orders. You must just shake your head sometimes. Seems like some want to drop their line in the water before fishing season opens.

My son applied for the January boards and just received his phone call. He got 4 year ROTC to Georgia Tech and Auburn University.
