Has anyone's status gone back to "IN PROCESS"? Mine still says nothing!

Didn't anyone check their DoDMERB site???

Didn't anyone check their DoDMERB site???

No, son's status "in process" has not come back, and I get the feeling it's not going to. I'm wondering if the people at Dodmerb have realized that many of the hits their site gets are people looking for their admission status, rather than their medical status.

In our case, I think it's "be careful what you wish for!" We were sick and tired of looking at that "in process" and, now, poof!!, it's gone!!!

Now we can only check to see if any dates change and then wonder what, if anything, the date change means!!!

Good luck!

See quote from Larry Mullen below. Posted yesterday after following question was posted by skc

"Just an observation. Could it be dodmerb has eliminated the admission status tag line for SA's/ROTC because too many candidates/parents etc use dodmerb to verify admission status. After all dodmerb charge is to determine candidates medical qualifications to serve in the military during and post education.

From L. Mullen
"We are NOT able to eliminate it yet. That said, Admission status should be checked with Admissions at the Academy applicant is applying to".

I spoke with Larry Mullen last night. I had sent him an email regarding the dodmerb page. The page he views is different then the one we see, but he did tell us my son's status is still showing "In Process" on his page.

I copied and pasted the page we see to show him the admission status is gone. He is not sure why it disappeared, but I don't think he's too upset about it.

I think Mr. Mullen and the rest of the staff at dodmerb would love for the admission status to be gone permanently. He informed me that he sent an email to the SA admissions folks to let them know the "admission status" is causing unnecessary grief for everyone. The candidates status should be available on the SA candidate page and not dodmerb.

I hope that clears up a little bit of the confusion. Mr. Mullen and the staff at dodmerb have a huge responsibility with regards to the medical information that needs to be processed, and should not have to deal with the admission status of every candidate.

dodmerb

i just called dodmerb and the lady i spoke with confirmed that they have changed the way they do business. they no longer advised via dodmerb status of applicant....in process is gone forever as is accepted or any other info that used to be derived. i guess we really have to wait for the bfe via U.S. Mail.

kinda says it all.

Someone must ahve clued in the folks at DoDMerb that the "DodNerds" were stalking their site for updates -- This new header on the login page says it all:rolleyes:

"Application Status on this website is NOT always a reliable or accurate admissions status regarding your personal application. Your selection to a Service Academy and/or your receipt of a 4 year ROTC Scholarship will be via letter from the Academy and/or ROTC program. Campus based ROTC scholarships will be issued by your Battalion or Detachment. The DoDMERB website exists to provide applicants their application medical status."
