I'm looking to get into Army ROTC at my graduate school, but these 2 issues worry me. I was in ROTC for 1.5 years in my undergrad. I took DoDMERB, was DQed at first because of my varicocele vein, but a waiver got me approved. I am 21 years old. Here are the two issues. 1) I'm having my varicocele vein removed via surgery on January 14th. Will this DQ me at all? Will it set me back at all? If so, for how long? There are no other issues with this, just getting it removed and that's it. 2) In August, I was overly intoxicated one night and ended up falling 7 feet and hitting my head on the concrete. I was taken via ambulance to the hospital where they ran tests on my head to make sure I was okay and I checked out fine. I had staples put in my head to close a cut I got from the fall. My memory that night goes in and out because of the alcohol. According to the ambulance report, I was moving around and breathing, but was out of it. I do not remember falling or being taken in the ambulance. The next thing I remember is waking up and I was fine from then on, leaving the hospital at 7AM.. My lack of memory is from all the alcohol. During this incident I also chipped the bone in my shoulder and sprained my shoulder. I never had an issue with my head, no side affects from the fall, and my toe and shoulder completely healed and I'm 100% healthy now. Is this going to be an issue?
