that's quite optomistic regarding the time frame! So many have apps in since July and early August, and very few have heard.

Per a separate thread, we are advised not much is going to happen until mid January and to try to sit tight...

General conclusion is that all the Branches of service are re-evaluating their budgets and personnel needs now that it appears the manpower needs in the middle east are easing. This apparently (who knows, really) means that the NROTC is a couple of months behind the normal schedule in awarding scholarships this year.

I was told that the scholarships are awarded to specific or even multiple schools that you have on your 'wish list'
No... Navy ROTC awards a scholarship to ONE school. That school can be any of the 5 on the list per the needs of the Navy. If awardee is not ultimately admitted into that ONE school awarded, then NETC will try to find a Battalion that has an opening, but it is not guaranteed.

dunninla thanks for the clarification....3 different ROTC apps all with variables in the process..thought I had it strait but I guess not. I just hope we start hearing soon ...do you know if the AROTC is done the same way as far as 1 offer to 1 school? Appreciate the input.

BJ,

No, AROTC is different. On this BB we've read that AROTC scholarships are awarded to one, two, three, even four colleges, and the awardee has to let Cadet Command at Ft. Knox know within approx. three weeks which school he/she chooses.
