I am new to the service academy forum.

My daughter has been appointed and accepted the US Naval Academy Class 2013.

I joined the forum with the hope to make contacts/friends with other parents who have a child attending the Naval Academy starting in 2009. I stumbled upon the website when searching for information about how parents prepare to have their child attend a service academy.

The postings I have seen here so far are very helpful and have a lot of insightful and supportive information.

I look forward to participating.

Congrats GONAVYMOM. My son received his appointment in February for the CLass of 2013. I too have learned alot from this forum and expect to learn more. I am going to join the USNA Parents Club for parents/plebes from NJ. I hope that hopes somewhat with the transistion. My son is going to CVW next week and I've already made my reservation for 6/30 for I Day.

I am so anxious; but this is his dream. Has been since he was 8 years old. I know it will be an amazing four years.

Hi to new moms of class of 2013.....we received a call from our congressmen's office informing us of my son's appointment letter. We should get it tomorrow!!! He is very excited and I am looking forward to soaking up as much information as I can.....We have alot to get done before he leaves in June. I suppose as soon as we mail off the reply to his appt letter....I should book hotel rooms for the visit in april......I-day June and parents weekend?!?!? Is there usually a problem with that?????

Have you noticed how fast time has been flying by since the arrival of the appointment? Less than 3 1/2 months left till I-Day!
