Hello,
I am a 3/C in a NROTC unit. I was placed on LOA last November for dispensary reasons (I got into trouble my first semester with the school). I was told I would be able to come off LOA on April 24th per my placement papers. I was told on April 20th my grades were needed to be seen to come off LOA. I was also told by my advisor I needed to be off LOA to go on summer cruise (CORTAMID West). After receiving my grades on May 5th, my advisor did nothing to get me off LOA and then notified me 4 days later (after repeated messages from me) that all the spots for COTRAMID were taken up and still hasn't taken any steps to get me off LOA.

After reading over the ROD (NSTC M-1533.2D) section 4-28, all these things they did to me doesn't seem right. They have kept me on LOA far longer than one full academic term (as described in 4-28-5) and do not need to know my performance since the LOA was a disciplinary one not performance related. I understand I messed up and deserve my punishment but I have been doing everything in my power to correct my mistakes and become a better person. Plus not going on cruise was never outline in my placement on LOA papers. My PNS did not even give me a shot to go on CORTAMID or come off LOA despite all the required action from me. It just doesn't seem right.

If anyone knows how to help me that would be very much appreciated. I will continue to do everything I can to go on CORTAMID because it has been a dream of mine for more than a year.
Thanks,

If I understand you correctly, you initially had an issue which involved the university (not NROTC) but that issue came to the attention of your unit which resulted in disciplinary action and an LOA.

You were asked for your spring semester grades in order to monitor your academic progress and as of right now, you remain on LOA.

For all of this to be true, your LT advisor, unit XO, and your PNS must have all conspired to keep you on a Leave of Absence. Is that your implication here?

I would assume that you would do the upstanding thing and formally request to meet with the PNS to discuss your situation. Short of that, you might get some general moral support from the forums here.......but I am hoping you read your post a few times (calmly), and then do some soul searching.
