Help Me Help My Son Make A Decision - Visiting USAFA

I would probably be banned for a week if I actually take my knowledge of college recruiting and respond to the OP so I will keep my mouth shut on this one. Good luck….

Parents -
My son was blessed with three offers and I can't seem to get anyone on the phone to help us. With sports, he can only get there this Thursday/ Friday/Saturday but it seems the tours are booked. He was hoping to talk to a few current cadets (esp. those who want to be a pilot), any cadets that were descent athletes who walked on in a sport, maybe watching a sports event. He also just wants to walk around and ideally take a tour that is more indepth that the public tour.

If anyone of you are able to give me a few leads I would truly appreciate it. This world is new to us. Thanks, Jackie
Call the visitor center and ask if you can do a walk in on one of the tours. When we went last October, they told us that they will never turn down a prospective students wanting a tour. And the tour was very insightful and lead by very knowledgeable cadets!

I assume that when the OP says "3 offers" s/he means to 3 different SAs, and at least one is USAFA or USMA since "cadet" is mentioned. USNA tours are done via the visitor center and are led by civilians, not mids. I believe they are given daily during normal working hours and you can just walk in and sign up -- there is a nominal fee. The people leading the tours are usually associated with USNA -- might be a grad, might be the spouse of an officer stationed there or faculty member, etc. They are very informative and take you to everything that's open to the public. You can also just walk around and talk to random mids. If they're not rushing to class or practice, etc., they are probably happy to speak to you.
