She has her schools as follows: NC State, U of North Carolina, Villanova, GW, and Holy Cross. Naval Academy is her primary goal. She attended their STEM camp in 9th grade, CVW this past Oct. and rowed for the coach at the crew camp. She applied for NASS but was not selected. I told her not to count on it since she went to STEM and CVW. "C" & "D" plans are also in planning.

DD just had her Officer interview. She said everything is now complete for ROTC 2018. All she has to do is apply to her 5 schools.

Just curious, is your DD a HS rising Senior right now?, Class of 2018?, I'm asking because mine is and she will just start her ROTC application this month, she was the last 2 weeks between SLE @ West Point and SS Air Force, and we know it will take a while all the process, so I want to know how she make everything so fast incluide the interview?, thanks!

Thank you all for the responses. Wondermom, DD is an official Sr. She was Johnny on it for getting ready. She remembered her brother needing to get everything completed so she was ready. She had asked her teachers for letters two months before school ended, the guidance C knew exactly what to do, and she requested the Officer interview right away. She also wants as much done now so she can concentrate on work, rowing and shooting over the summer. She does not like to wait on anything. She also said she wants to enjoy her Sr. Year so she is getting as much as possible done.

All excellent choices, especially GW. I should know. I'm a graduate. Of course, when I applied, you could get in with an expired fishing license.

My roommate rowed. He woke me up every morning at 5:30 so he could run down to the Potomac and be at practice by 6:00.

Good luck sounds like DD has a good head on her shoulders. We went through the same with DS #2 since he seen all that his brother went through senior year. So he jumped to it and had everything in order and ready to go before school started and then just waited to hear. He was offered a 3yr AD to the school he wanted most. It's nice when the counselor knows what to do as well. Ours was extremely helpful during the summer.

Wow, so smart to have all that done before senior year even begins! We didn't even know about AROTC until Sept. senior year, my DD did an overnight visit in Oct., decided she wanted to go for it - then did all her college apps for early action and AROTC app for second round (she won a four-year to her first choice school!). She was still miles ahead of most of her friends in terms of apps done, answers back, and visits/decisions made. It was a great feeling! Best wishes to your DD!
