Is the Herndon climb always the Monday of Commissioning Week?

As Parents of a Plebe; We want to be there and are planning ahead as much lodging in DTA is booking/booked already ! ( especially from Tuesday on)

As Parents of a Plebe; We want to be there and are planning ahead as much lodging in DTA is booking/booked already ! ( especially from Tuesday on)

The official calendars at link below do not go past October 2019 yet, in my quick skim through, but it’s worth diving in. Don’t overlook the hamburger menus. Keep an eye out there for the updates into 2020; it should happen in the next few weeks.

In recent years it has happened the Monday of Comm Week. I have also seen it happen Thursday or Friday of the week before. Just because something happens one way for several years, doesn’t mean the pendulum can’t swing back. Until you find the answer at a primary or official source, proceed with caution.

Agree with Capt MJ... the academic calendar for all of 2019-20 will be released Sunday the next few weeks. I would wait for that just to be sure. If there is a hotel with a refund or cancel policy then you could book with minimal risk at this point.

Thanks. We have a reservation that Sat-Tues ( Tues nt was not available). Liberal cancellations policy, so we may add on the Wed-Sat before to be safe!

Class of 2022 plebe no more mom- we stayed Saturday -Wed the week of commissioning 2019 for Herndon( Monday) - class of 2022 climb was 1 hr 5min BTW!!!- if you can stay till Tues/Wed the Blue Angels practice/ demo is not to be missed- Wednesday was command changeover at noon formation -

Hmmm thinking ahead to DD's Commissioning, I wounder how far back you'd have to go to find a USNA Class that never beat Army over their Mid-dum?

The Academic Calendars are out for 2020, but Herndon is still not posted. Then again, Graduation isn't even listed on the PAO calendar so they have a few things to add still!
