Hello everybody!

My name is Elizabeth and I'm a sophomore at Vanderbilt University's NROTC unit majoring in geology. I'm originally from Fargo, ND and once considered the Air Force and Naval Academies, but decided that the civilian college NROTC route was the right choice for me.
My freshman year of college, I did not do NROTC, but during the summer between my freshman and sophomore years, after a year of regretting not going for an academy or ROTC, I decided to just do it.
I contacted Vandy's NROTC unit in late July and on August 19th found myself standing at attention at NROTC indoc. From then on, I have not regretted my NROTC decision even once. Just last week I recieved some good news! I was changed from college programmer to scholarship midshipman after recieving the NROTC leadership scholarship! Yay!
Anyways, thats a little about me and my disjointed path to NROTC. Its great to meet all of you!

:welcome1: and congratulations :yay: on receiving the prestigious NROTC leadership scholarship! I am glad you found us!

Hi ND88TN,

I'm so glad that you're on the forum. I'm really interested in Vandy's NROTC -I've heard lots of good things about it.

I'm also interested in the ROTC unit at Vandy. Do have much interaction with the ROTC students?

Welcome. I lived in Nashville, and my father works at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

I looked at the NRTOC program at Vanderbilt, great deal. Vandy's a good place to go, so enjoy it, and get to some Predators games for me.

I also had a good friend who was in Army ROTC at Vandy. Now he's a 1LT in the 101st in Iraq.

Enjoy Vandy, Go 'Dores!

Thanks everyone!

Nashville is a great place to live and Vanderbilt is a great place to go to school!

Sealion - I'd love to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks again, and its great to be here!
