My son is currently in AFROTC at college and is being nominated for an Express Scholarship this year, he passed his DODMERB a year ago, however about a month ago he was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. The Doctor said it was very small and shouldn't cause him any problems. It has had no effect on his Physical Training, in fact he received a physical fitness award in ROTC his first semester. My concern is I read this is a disqualifying medical condition. Is it possible to get a medical waiver for this? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
