Hi, I am currently a Junior in Highschool looking for a college to enroll in with an ROTC program. My main goal is to make the military my career and have thought long and hard on wanting to study Military Science. My whole life I’ve wanted to serve and am really eager for this new journey! I’ve been looking at VMI for a choice. However as of my sophomore year I have a 2.9 GPA. This year I know my GPA has gone up, but I don’t have any AP classes this year and I have 4 honor classes lined up for my Senior year. Would it still be possible to apply for that school? And would there be any way to increase my chances as of now?

You can always apply, and in fact its the only way to find out if you can be accepted. There are plenty of colleges that host ROTC units and can be found at goarmy.com. its always wise to have multiple backup plans and you should apply to several colleges with a ROTC program.

Although GPA is certainly important, it's not everything. Knock your standardized tests out of the park to show you're academically competent, pursue leadership positions, do great on your fitness tests etc. and you'll definitely have a fighting chance.
